INTAKE SESSIONS
When you sign up for High School Services at Next Step Solutions NY, the first thing we do is set up an intake session with our clients. The intake session is your time to talk about yourself and tell us all about you. We want to know what you did in high school, what you are looking for in college, what kind of support you need, what you are interested in, and any other information you want to share. These intakes help us find the program and school that not only best fit your needs, but give you the greatest chance for success in college!

PROFESSIONAL RESUME
If you are a High School student looking to apply to college, did you know you will need to submit a resume as part of your application?
At Next Step Solutions NY, we create a professional resume for every client who is receiving High School Services. We will sit down with you (over Zoom) and ask you questions about your past work experience, academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, hobbies, etc. Then we will build a custom resume for you to submit with your application. We do all of the work for you!

FINDING A COLLEGE
Finding a college that is the right fit is a difficult process, so we are here to help you! We created a database consisting of all colleges & universities that have autism support programs in the country. Using the information you provided, we identify the schools and programs that best fit your needs and wants. We then develop a document to provide to you, which outlines the schools, admissions information, information on the support programs, as well as our application recommendations.

FINDING A SUPPORT PROGRAM
Before you can choose the support program that is the right fit, you need to make sure you know what you are looking for. During your intake session, we work with you to identify the areas of support you need. Whether it is academic, social, counseling, residential or vocational support services, we identify the programs that have what you are looking for, and explain the differences between programs. We will also identify those which have pre-college programs, which can help you acclimate to college life the summer before freshman year.
